Facilities Team SupervisorLocation : San Diego, CA, United StatesJob Family : ManufacturingJob Type : RegularPosted : Aug 21, 2024Job ID : 51217Back to Search ResultsJob DescriptionApply Now >Save JobJob SavedThe Facilities Team Supervisor has overall responsibility for the efficient maintenance and coordination of all equipment, machinery, and facilities. This job has supervisory responsibilities up to 10 employees. Supervisory responsibility includes, but is not limited to, training and developing team members, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching, and counseling employees, and administering disciplinary procedures. Will interact with employees at all levels of the organization and with outside contacts. In addition to supervision of employees this role also requires basic knowledge and skills to complete building & equipment troubleshooting and physically conduct the repairs.Essential Functions:

Manage all maintenance, service and new projects related to facilities, grounds, equipment, machinery, plant vehicles, etc.

Manage service and repairs of equipment with internal team and external resources as appropriate.

Coordinate contract negotiations with facility vendors and service providers and facility purchases.

Develop cost allocations for facility operations and services.

Monitor monthly facility expenses and apply continuous improvement methods to control costs.

Maintain communications with building ownership.

Manage selection, training, and development of maintenance staff and lead/ participate in HPT's including membership in Safety team.

Maintain maintenance history and service records system and monitor trends in data to enable proactive approach and make recommendations.

Computer skills to search and find components, parts or service vendors and place orders and process credit card payments and manage expense reports. Larger expenditures require coordination of PO requisitions and receiving and coordinating invoices with help from supply chain and accounting.

Ability to work on and solve a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams.

Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Lead project to consolidate equipment from one building to another and return the old building back to owner’s stated condition.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Minimum of High School diploma and 7+ year’s experience in maintenance including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC and CNC machinery.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience with Maintenance and Work Order Systems

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Experience with project management related to facility and/or equipment transfers a plus. This includes use of Microsoft Project, or similar software, to manage project execution and a CAD software for plant layout.

Must have demonstrated leadership abilities to effectively work with people in a team environment and possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Knowledge of facility, industry practices, regulations, and policies. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to facilities, equipment and plant layout (e.g. OSHA, Unified Building and Electrical Codes, and environmental regulations).

Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods and techniques. Familiarity with TPM principles.

Ability to work on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.
