Full-time

Our company is looking for a highly motivated individual with a basic understanding of Analog and Digital circuitry who will be able to assist in troubleshooting PCB designs and propose modifications or fixes for errors that they may uncover. Troubleshooting of these PCBs will involve hardware analysis skills involving oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other test equipment on live circuits.

This individual is expected to analyze a schematic and, for the most part, understand the purpose or function of the circuits contained within, ultimately using this understanding to troubleshoot portions of a physical PCB and identify errors and propose modifications or fixes.

Basic PCB design skills are necessary as this is critical to enabling rapid troubleshooting of PCB designs – knowing how they are constructed significantly helps one to understand how to reverse engineer them.

The new hire will also be exposed to Radio-Frequency/mm-Wave concepts and potentially assist in measurement/testing of RF products that our company develops. No prior knowledge in this area is required.

Requirements:

Good dexterity and steady hands

Understanding of basic Analog and Digital circuitry

Can read and understand a datasheet

Hardware troubleshooting skills involving oscilloscopes, multimeters, and live circuits.

Able to troubleshoot assembled PCBs with accompanying schematics and understand the intended purpose of a circuit.

Basic PCB design skills in any of the following: Altium, OrCad, Eagle, KiCad, etc.

Basic soldering/desoldering skills for both surface mount and through-hole components.

Not Required – but nice to have skills:

PSpice/LT-Spice experience for simulation of simple circuits

Multi-Layer PCB design experience in Altium, both schematic and layout

Experience working under a microscope with components smaller than 0402 surface mount components

The desire to learn rare and difficult RF/mm-wave test and measurement skills

The desire to learn advanced microelectronic assembly skills: Ex: Wire Bonding, Die Attach, Epoxy systems, Eutectic Soldering, etc.
