The Residential Specialist provides support and supervision for Community Outreach Recovery and Rehabilitation (CORR), a residential substance abuse treatment program located in Placer County. This is an essential role in the life of recovering addicts and is a key role for modeling appropriate behavior and mindset to those entering into recovery. support staff provide a host of entry-level therapeutic interactions and have a good understanding of recovery principles and the 12-step process. Support staff also play a key role in the interaction of the 12-step communities, volunteers, professional staff, and the community at large.

Incumbents in this position must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in regard to the health, welfare and safety of our clients and other staff. They are trusted with the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and fellow staff members. They require the utmost integrity and honesty as they often work and carry out tasks without direct on-site supervision. They are expected to learn and implement the CORR Services Client Handbook as well as

established Policies and Procedures. Residential Specialists must be comfortable interacting with and supporting Clinical Staff in addressing serious addictive, criminal, and mental health issues presented by our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Documenting shift notes in Daily Log Book to include any significant events, information,

activity, changes or updates while on shift.

● Read previous shift notes. Sign off in Logbook that you read shift notes.

● Monitor men to get ready for meals. Ensure tables are cleaned after meals.

● Monitor chore time. Walk through Facility making sure chores are being done correctly

and all clients are participating. (mornings only)

● Keep the program on schedule and direct clients when necessary to ensure the program

schedule is followed.

● Monitor medications as needed at appropriate times.

● Log all medications into Medication Storage/Disposal Logbook, specifically news

medications. Create client sign-in sheet for Client Medications Sign-in Book.

● Monitor clients' KP duties. Ensure that KP chores are being completed before KP clients

go outside to smoke or socialize.

● Assist Counselors with groups. Give citations for breaking rules such as leaving group,

eating/drinking during group, cross-talking, etc.

● Monitor Central Office and hand out paperwork as requested by clients-passes, etc.

● Direct clients to Counselors for requests to use phones or obtain appointments for

medical issues, Clothes Closet referrals, etc.

● Whenever clients are breaking House Rules, give a citation to the client and write the

Treatment assignment in the disciplinary log.

● Complete any additional duties assigned by the Program Director.

● Cook meals for clients.

● Complete security checks and sign necessary security check logs.

Minimum Qualifications

● Be at least 21 years of age.

● Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

● Must have an up-to-date CPR and First Aid training certification. (Can be done after hire, funded by CORR)

Saturday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Sunday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

This position will also be On Call to pick up the following shifts as needed:

Monday-Sunday

1st Shift (8:00am - 4:30pm)

2nd Shift (4:00pm - 12:30am)

3rd Shift (12:00am - 8:30am)

Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour

These hours are subject to change as determined by operation needs.
