Jazba Care is a small 6-bed residential care facility dedicated to providing high-quality, holistic memory care using Ayurvedic principles. Our mission is to support elderly residents, particularly those with dementia, by creating a nurturing home environment with personalized care, social engagement, and a balanced, medication-conscious approach.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Live-In Caregiver to join our team. The caregiver will provide personal care and assist with daily activities for elderly residents. The position requires staying on the premises during designated hours, with room and board included as part of the compensation package. The caregiver will be on duty during assigned hours but will have personal time off, during which they are free to leave the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting

- Provide medication reminders and ensure timely administration according to care plans

- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques

- Prepare meals and support residents with eating, following specialized diets as necessary

- Light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment

- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities and therapeutic exercises

- Document and report any changes in residents' health or behavior to the care coordinator

- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times

- Adhere to Jazba Care’s holistic and Ayurvedic care principles

Requirements:

- Must be at least 18 years old

- Authorized to work in the United States

- Prior experience in elderly or dementia care preferred

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and supporting residents

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Compassionate, patient, and able to handle the emotional demands of caregiving

- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

- Clear background check and TB test (required prior to start date)

Live-In Caregiver Specifics:

- The caregiver will stay on-site for 5-6 consecutive days per week, with paid time off in compliance with California labor laws.

- Scheduled rest and meal breaks will be provided as mandated.

- Personal time off during shifts will align with caregiving schedules, and the caregiver may leave the premises when off-duty.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Competitive hourly wage based on experience (California minimum wage currently $15.50/hour, adjusted for experience and skill level)
