Job Summary:Under direct supervision, provides clerical support to the department; diverse duties requiring knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Clerical duties may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of individual departments and may include a combination of answering telephones, performing accounts receivable adjustments, typing or word processing, office supply ordering, office equipment operations, research, and filing etc.Essential Responsibilities:

Provides support for collection activities by sorting and preparing all incoming documents for scanning and/or filing.

Performs data gathering functions including verifying demographic information against internal and external system resources, and verifying eligibility (KP and or other entities), etc.

Provides support to Collectors by requesting letters on designated collection accounts.

Processes revenue reversals and write offs for all units within the department including external collection agencies.

Ensures that accounts have the current payer information.

Prints demand bills and claims as requested by the Collectors.

Inputs payment information into the live check database. Updates demographic information on accounts.

Performs customer service as required.

Works designated HealthConnect work queues as assigned.

Prepares data report summaries and department logs/records.

Compiles department statistics and prepares reports and charts.

Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to special projects.

Pay Grade 05Basic Qualifications:Experience

Basic Qualfications:

The Basic Computer Literacy Assessment score must be current within one (1) year (contact Local HR Office for testing). Must obtain passing score on the Basic Computer Literacy Assessment (passing score set at 75).

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Basic minimum required quals OR successful completion of the PFS Career Ladder curriculum that is mapped to that position.

License, Certification, Registration

N/A

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of basic accounting principles.

Collection background in workers compensation, self-pay, commercial insurance, etc. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical computations at a high school level.

Ability to work well in a team environment and within the Labor Management Partnership guidelines and effectively participate in Unit Based Teams.

Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Ability to use general office equipment including telephones, fax, copier, etc.

Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient in PC and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to read and interpret computer generated reports.
