Sierra Cybernetics is seeking an AI Developer to support our Los Angeles Superior Court (LASC) government client.
The duration of the engagement is at least 12 months.
US citizens or green card holders only. No sponsored candidates.
This is a remote position with possible travel to the Court in downtown LA or to other courts or conferences on rare occasions.
Candidate must be willing to consider full- time employment with the Court after 12 months.
Project Overview: The Court is undertaking innovative projects aimed at integrating generative AI and AI-driven document processing technologies into our existing business processing. This may expand to building AI applications that interact with our case management system (Odyssey and eCourt).
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in AI development, specifically with a strong background in generative AI models and natural language processing.
Proficient in C#, with experience integrating AI technologies into existing C# applications.
Experience with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure OpenAI) suitable for C# environments.
Demonstrable experience in developing and deploying AI solutions for document analysis and processing.
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) used for deploying AI solutions.
Solid understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Expertise in designing and implementing pluggable architecture using reflection, dependency injection frameworks, or modular frameworks (e.g., MEF, Autofac) for scalable and extensible software solutions.
Desirable Qualifications:
Master’s degree or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with local Large Language Models and implementation in legal document analysis.
Knowledge of Odyssey and eCourt case management systems.
Experience in the legal sector, particularly with legal documents or legal environments.
Knowledge of ethical AI use and considerations specific to public service and legal applications.
Previous experience working on government contracts or projects.
Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
Excellent communication skills, to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement AI models, especially integrated within C# applications, tailored to the needs of the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into Odyssey and eCourt case management systems.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of AI technologies to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Provide technical guidance and training to other team members.
Continuously stay updated on the latest AI technologies that can benefit the court system.
