Development One Architects is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to be its Federal Government Business Development Lead . Our firm has an established track record of success in the federal government sector, and we are looking for an individual with the insight, persistence, and skills to leverage this past track record into more opportunities with federal government agencies. This role will report directly to the Director of Operations and Marketing.

Our existing federal clients often refer to us as their “go-to firm,” and we are excited to add to this list of satisfied agencies.

Your Role:

Strategic Planning: Using a variety of tools and methods, gain an understanding of where and how federal government infrastructure funds are going to be spent. Identify upcoming pursuits that strategically align with the strengths of our firm, and then plan and implement a gameplan to win these contracts.

Small Business Advocacy: Most federal agencies have small business liaisons tasked with helping small businesses like ours acquire work with their representative agencies. Through a variety of activities such as attendance at conferences, trade shows, as well as outreach through email, phone, and social media, build a rapport with the SB representatives, and promote the firm in a variety of ways which may include capability presentations.

Strategic Partnerships with other Prime Entities. Identify strategically aligned prime entities such as general contractors with Design/Build contracts, or even large A/E primes seeking to meet small business goals. Form alliances that bring new opportunities to the firm while protecting its own interests.

Support Marketing Efforts With Project Solicitation Responses. When the opportunities you’ve been tracking “hit the street,” you will assist the marketing team with assembling content that will ensure that the firm is short-listed for the project.

Client Relationships: Develop relationships with the firm’s current clients and optimize cross-sell opportunities.

The Federal Business Development Lead must be an outgoing and persistent, yet tactful individual. In coordination with the Director of Operations & Marketing, they will lead and manage their pursuits by establishing strategies in order to procure A/E contracts.
