Litigation Paralegal - Civil, Trust and Probate
California, Orange county 00000 Orange county USAEstablished boutique law firm in Newport Beach is seeking a litigation paralegal for immediate hire with 5 to10 years of experience. The paralegal will be working for 2 to 3 attorneys in the areas of general civil business litigation, and probate and trust litigation matters. ABA Paralegal certification required. Salary is commensurate with experience. Full benefits such as PTO, Holidays, 401K, life Insurance and medical, dental, vision benefits included.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
1. Experienced litigation paralegal experienced in drafting pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses and motions.
2. Experienced in trial preparation.
3. Experienced with filings in State and Federal courts
4. Assist with probate litigation and trust litigation.
5. Draft documents related to civil, probate and trust litigation.
6. Knowledge of asset inventories and accountings for trust litigation a plus.
7. Candidate should have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Hot Docs,
LexisNexis, Essential Forms, MS Office programs, Timeslips and Time Matters.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. Willingness and ability to learn and perform new tasks.
10. Excellent interpersonal skills, including evidenced ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization,
including clients, attorneys, courts, and opposing counsel.
11. Strong analytical, drafting, and proofreading skills. Attention to detail is very important.
12. Willingness to ask questions and to seek information needed to complete projects and tasks.
13. Be able to manage time efficiently with minimal supervision.
14. Experience in tracking and billing time accurately and timely is required.
15. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously and as
part of a team.
16. Strong organization, time management and project management skills, including ability to adhere to project
deadlines, while being flexible as necessary in response to changes and delays in deadlines.
17. An ABA Paralegal certificate in good standing and in compliance with CLE requirements is required.
18. Minimum 5 years of full-time law firm experience.
19. Works well in a team environment.
20. Notary Public is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000 to $85,000 per year
