Fulfillment and Delivery Associate for Postpartum Food Startup

We’re a small but growing food company focused on Japanese-style postpartum foods— handcrafted, healing, and made with intention. We’re looking for a teammate to fulfill and deliver our frozen products from our licensed commercial kitchen! We may also need ad-hoc assistance with all different matters for events, photoshoots and other startup activities, so we would like someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, frequently wearing multiple hats and thriving in a hands-on, dynamic setting.

Location: Commercial Kitchen in Fullerton, Orange County, CA
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 40 hours per month, with increased hours based on business needs. The anticipated schedule is as follows:
1 full 6-8 hour day per week (likely Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday)
Additional: 1–3 hours per week for online meetings or ad-hoc support.
Employees will receive meal and rest breaks in accordance with California Labor Code Sections 226.7 and 512, and overtime pay for hours worked over 8 in a day or 40 in a week, per California Labor Code Section 510.
Key Responsibilities:
Fulfill orders by assembling cooler boxes or insulated packaging and packing food products for safe, temperature-compliant transport.
Communicate with internal team and clients to ensure delivery environments meet cold-chain handling requirements.
Manage inventory of all fulfillment/delivery related items including boxes, tape, ice packs, dry ice, insulated bags, etc.
For sourcing fulfillment items needed for the day such as dry ice or for local deliveries, use a personal vehicle to deliver customer orders across Orange County and Los Angeles County, with mileage reimbursement provided per California Labor Code Section 2802.
Plan and follow efficient procurement and delivery routes to maintain product quality and minimize delivery time.
Assist the Project Manager (located in Japan) with operational tasks related to fulfillment logistics.
Collaborate with internal team and external partners to ensure compliance with food safety and business regulations.
Provide ad-hoc support for events, photo shoots, PR activities, etc., approximately every 2–3 months (1–3 full eight (8) hour days).
As with any start-up venture, other duties may be assigned as each employee may need to help in other areas that are not explicitly mentioned above.
Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively in English with food safety consultants, clients, and team members.
Reliable transportation to commute to the FH Wellness Inc. commercial kitchen and to safely deliver finished product as outlined in the responsibilities listed above.
Ability to safely lift and transport moderately heavy items (e.g., boxes, cooler boxes, up to 50 pounds) with reasonable accommodations available as needed.
Availability to work independently according to the above schedule.
