California, Orange county 00000 Orange county USAAlzheimer’s Family Center is currently hiring for two open positions to support our adult day health and dementia care programs. Please review both opportunities carefully and indicate which position you are applying for when submitting your application.
Position 1: Assistant Activities Coordinator (Part-Time)
Schedule: 20 hours per week - Monday-Friday, 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
Status: Part-time, non-benefited
Pay Range: $21.00–$22.00 per hour
Position Summary:
The Assistant Activities Coordinator supports the planning and facilitation of engaging, therapeutic activities for adults living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This role works closely with program staff to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and leading group activities (art, music, games, movement, etc.)
- Encourage and support patient engagement
- Set up, organize, and clean up activity materials
- Observe patients and report changes to supervisory staff
- Support daily program operations as needed
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience working with seniors or individuals with dementia preferred
- Activity certification preferred
- Patient, compassionate, and dependable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to program needs
Position 2: Program Aide (Full-Time)
Schedule: 30 hours per week - Monday-Friday, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Status: Full-time with benefits
Pay Range: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
Position Summary:
The Program Aide provides direct care and support to patients and assists with daily program operations. This role is essential to ensuring patient safety, comfort, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living
- Check patients in and out
- Monitor the courtyard for safety
- Support group activities and social interaction
- Monitor patient well-being and report concerns
- Assist with meals, transitions, and general program flow
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Collaborate with program staff and clinical team
Qualifications:
- Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or adult day services preferred
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
