The following are the Job Duties for the pharmacy techs :
Reports to supervisor(s)
Print the clinic schedule on a daily basis, ensuring that registered nurses sign off on every drug taken from the mixing room.
Lead Pharm Tech to train and supervise the reconstitution of hazardous chemotherapy /immunotherapy drugs
Practicing use of all PPE at all times in the mixing room/area.
Dose calculations to yield correct final concentrations
Assist mixing pharmacy technician with dispensing medications, priming bags as needed, and charting on MARs. This is done by checking that every drug dispensed has the correct dose and waste amount.
Ensure that the nursing station is fully stocked before the start of every clinic day .
Check list of patients who are coming in for the day that have patient owned drug(s). Provide names to mixing/dispensing pharm tech so that the drug is pulled under the patient name correctly.
Review medication list of any new patients who are starting treatments, check with nurse what oral antiemetics may need to be sent if not done so already
Review oral dispensing system QS1 for any new electronic prescriptions received, process and dispense, update treatment plans following written protocol.
Process refill reports to call patients, refill and order, and ensure compliance.
Review patients on “Patient Owned Drugs,” order for patients on drug replacement at least a week prior to tx date if the program permits, update spreadsheet that is shared with all techs.
Inventory
Utilize and check OncoEMR system, review inbox for any new or pending tasks, and check that tasks assigned have been completed.
Count drug inventory at the end of the day, order as needed for the following day + scheduled order dates through Oncology Supply using electronic purchase order system (Nucleus Cabinets) .
Manage Nucleus portal counts to make sure they reflect actual inventory on hand to ensure numbers are correct.
Check list will be given to the new hire with more detailed information.
Breaking down boxes and keeping an organized area.
Monitoring temperature required by CA state law
Any other duty asked of you by your supervisor, lead, or management.
Travel as needed for coverage to any of the other 4 locations.

Qualifications:
High school diploma
CPR certification
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

Travel Requirements:
Travel as needed to deliver/drop off medications to any one of our 4 other locations, addresses available at time of hire.
All travel/mileage is reimbursed at 0.67/mile while on the clock
