We are a small but busy and steadily growing medical practice in Manteca, CA. This position is one of the most important in the office. It involves daily and constant work with our patients, making them feel welcome and comfortable. A love of all people is a must for this job! You will be the primary person to room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and schedule follow up appointments. Positive energy in everything you do is a must.

It is also important that you are comfortable using a computer. This position involves data entry and word-processing on daily basis. If using a computer scares you, this isn’t the right fit.

The position will be part-time between 20-30 hours per week with the goal of eventually becoming a full-time position down the road. The schedule to start will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and every other Friday from 8:00 AM – 1:00PM. The position will be part time with the option of health benefits following a 90-day probation period. On-the-job paid training will be provided.

The following are some of the main job duties & expectations of this position:

Welcome and room patients and collect appropriate documentation in a friendly and professional manner in person and by telephone

Take and record vital signs, medications, family history, and other pertinent health information in patient charts using a web-based electronic health record (EHR) database

Perform accurate data entry functions within the EHR database

Work with insurance companies to ensure appropriate authorizations are obtained for all procedures and surgeries and necessary paperwork is completed accurately

Clean patient rooms and sterilize instruments as needed

Ensure patient rooms are stocked with appropriate inventory as needed

Schedule appointments and follow up visits in a timely manner

Educate patients and potential patients about our product & service features and benefits

Secure patient information and records appropriately to comply with HIPAA standards

Represent the practice in a professional and courteous manner

Perform special assignments or projects as assigned by the physician or Office Manager

Print, scan, make copies, and file as necessary

Other duties as required by the physician or fellow office staff

Job Requirements:

Requires the ability to speak, write, & read English; knowledge of Spanish is recommended

Must be able to type 40+ WPM and exhibit fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and must be able to learn EHR database functions

Must be able to answer the phone and communicate with patients, doctors, office staff, and insurance providers with courtesy and professionalism

Must be punctual and reliable

Requires the ability to work in a team environment

Must exhibit professionalism in conduct and dress

Requires an individual who conducts themselves with honesty and integrity and have a commitment to excellence

Must be able to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all other industry standards to protect patient confidentiality

Requires HS graduation or equivalent, college is a plus
