Skilled Construction Foreman

General Contractor seeks construction foreman with experience in new residential construction, including remodeling. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of building codes, site preparation, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, structural concrete, and safety regulations. Their job is to manage projects onsite and ensure project deadlines are met, safety procedures are being followed, and work schedules. Must be able to identify and troubleshoot problems, implementing solutions to keep projects moving foward.

Job Duties:

Responsible for overseeing daily operations at the jobsite to ensure project completion in a safe and efficient manner.

Coordinates projects with Project Manager.

Maintain inventory control & track material usage to minimize waste and keep costs within budget.

Meet deadlines and ensure construction phases are completed on time so the next phase can begin.

Conducts inspections as required at critical phases.

Works with Project Manager to resolve design problems; evaluate and implement change orders.

Conducts weekly safety meetings with the crew & enforces adherence to safety protocols.

Maintains and/or obtains tools and tool repairs necessary to increase crew efficiency.

Skills, Qualifications and Expectations:

Prior experience as a Construction Foreman or similar role.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Ability to manage and lead a diverse construction crew effectively.

Must be able to work well with others and be a team player.

Solid understanding of construction site operations and safety protocols.

Customer service skills to communicate effectively with customers, inspectors and staff.

Must exhibit good judgment, have communication skills, receptive to feedback and be organized.

Required:

Valid California driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

Be in good physical condition.

Basic construction tools.
