About the job

We are looking for a reliable and dedicated Part-Time Driver to join our team. This role focuses on picking up fresh produce from farms and markets, delivering it to our warehouse partner, supporting our mission to fix the food system. You’ll be driving a refrigerated 16-foot box truck, so experience with large vehicles and loading equipment is required.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing operation, with potential for additional hours in the very near future. Part-time (25 hours/week) with overtime opportunities on Tuesdays (12-17 hour shifts). Start times are 6:00 AM on Mondays and 6:00 AM on Tuesdays and 5:00 AM on Wednesdays.

Truck is based in Los Angeles, CA. The driver must self-report to this location. Occasional visits to our office in Los Angeles may be required.

Responsibilities:

Pick up fresh produce from farms and farmers markets primarily in Central and Southern CA.

Deliver produce to our warehouse partner.

Ensure proper handling and secure loading of products (up to 50-lb cases) using equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks and keeping pallets securely strapped for movement.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition.

About you:

Clean driving record with a valid California driver’s license.

Experience driving large vehicles is preferred.

Able to lift and load cases weighing up to 50 lbs.

Familiarity with safe lifting techniques is a plus.

Prior delivery or pick-up experience is highly desirable.

Experience with loading equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks is a bonus.

Comfortable with early start times and long shifts.

Can work independently while maintaining close contact with the office on driving days and accuracy under time constraints.
