Custom Automotive Mechanic/Fabricator wanted

Vintage 4x4 shop located in Van Nuys, CA that specializes in the restoration and fabrication of classic 4x4's ie; Early broncos, International Scouts, K10's and Classic Jeeps. We specialize in modern conversions, Ls swaps, 4 link suspensions, long travel, coil overs and full restorations.

Qualifications:

· Individual has generalized knowledge of auto repair, removal and installation of vehicle components

· Well-rounded knowledge of classic 4x4's as well as modern LS engines, superchargers, etc. is required.

· MUST BE ABLE to diagnose/fabricate/weld and wire up a car.

· Must have a general knowledge of fabrication and must be able to think outside of the box in custom applications and be experienced in diagnostics (WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR JUST A PARTS CHANGER).

· Previous wiring and electrical diagnostics a plus.

· Provide and use own tools and have reliable means of transportation to/from shop.

· We are expanding and looking for someone to join our awesome team, someone that can contribute their knowledge and appreciation for Vintage 4x4's.

· Shop maintains a clean shop and expect that you maintain a clean and safe work area.

· Preferred to bring on an individual with 5+ year of experience, but WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON (Attitude is key) but must have a solid foundation of skills to work with.

· Position requires someone with passion, drive and patience it takes to build these machines from the ground up.

· Fantastic customer service—a warm, approachable manner, great listening skills, and a drive to help in any way you can—even on the toughest, busiest days

· Top-notch communication skills

· Impressive attention to detail and a love for tinkering ‘til you figure it out

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

· Stand for excessive periods of time up to 8 hrs.

· Must be able to wear all required personal safety equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and provide/wear steal tip boots.

· Ability to perform physical requirements and acclimate to work environment.

Hourly wage is based on Experience/Skills. Shop hour are M-F 9am-5pm. Individual must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the workload.
