Construction Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Accounting Specialist to support both active construction projects and ongoing monthly accounting clients. This role requires experience with public works construction, including prevailing wage compliance.

-Primary Responsibilities:

-Perform GAAP-based accounting for construction operations

-Manage job costing, WIP schedules, progress billings, and retention

-Support accounting and reporting requirements for Caltrans and local metropolitan agency

-Handle prevailing wage compliance, including certified payroll coordination & documentation

-Maintain accurate financial records across multiple construction phases

-Provide monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting for recurring clients

-Coordinate with project management to ensure financial accuracy and compliance

-Maintain organized records and meet strict deadlines

Required Qualifications:

-Minimum 3 years of construction accounting experience

-Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting practices

-Experience with Caltrans and public works projects

-Familiarity with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements

-Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop)

-Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail

-Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

-Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
