SUMMARY
Provides support for the implementation of the agency’s cultural competency initiatives to help ensure that the delivery of services and support is culturally inclusive and inclusive for all consumers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides feedback and recommendations that ensure our public information, training materials, and organizational policies and procedures are culturally inclusive
Promotes cross-cultural training and communications support across the agency
Coordinate, enhance, participate in support groups, and provide recommendations to help consumers and their families increase access to culturally sensitive services provided by the regional center, generic services and other community agencies
In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, supports the implementation of internal and external communications that promote and educate employees and the community on the Center’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Identify, build and sustain strategic partnerships with local community agencies and various stakeholders to assist in outreach efforts designed to identify, educate and inform consumers and families.
Participates in the review of annual Purchase of Service (POS) expenditures, provides support for POS Expenditure public meetings and provides feedback to the agency on service equity issues.
Provide consultation and recommendations to case management staff on increasing access to regional center services.
Collaborate on disparity-related efforts, projects, and related committees.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; concentration in a human services or a business-related field, such as social work, sociology, special education, psychology, human resources, or communication, preferred
One (1) to three (3) years of diversity, inclusion, and cultural competency experience in a social service setting, preferred.
Regional Center experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE and/or SKILLS
Understanding of cultural norms of a diverse community.
Knowledge of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Expertise in multicultural competence in social service settings.
Community resources
Knowledge of the regional center system preferred
Microsoft Office and related applications
LICENSES and/or CERTIFICATES
Valid California Driver's License.
Requires reliable and timely transportation to perform regular job duties on a routine basis out of the office.

Works in an office environment where the noise level is quiet.
Exposed to outdoor weather conditions when traveling to other locations as needed.
This position will require attendance at after-hours meetings, travel to all branch offices and off-site meetings, conferences, seminars, etc., as appropriate.
