QA Supervisor/Lead - Quality Assurance

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Works under the FSQ Director and supervises the activities of the QC team members. Individual is accountable for maintaining, developing and implementing manufacturing standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure Safe Quality Food at Namar Foods. Ensure the SQF programs are in place and functioning to support food safety systems and production is running efficiently on a daily basis and all documentation is up to date and acceptable based on SQF level 2 standards. Computer knowledge: Experience in Excel (data analysis), Word, etc.

Education: Qualified applicants will possess a B.S. in a related field.

Language: English / Spanish

Experience: SQF Experience (certified practitioner is a plus). Minimum 6 years in QC/QA (supervisory experience a plus). Must be versed in GMPs, HACCP, Food Safety, production formulation and micro/chemical knowledge.

Summary of Job Responsibilities (Job Responsibilities may be added as needed):

· SQF Practitioner assistant to the FSQ Director

· Assist the FSQ Director to lead the whole operations team on the implementation of the Food Safety and Quality system of the whole plant

· Review of daily food safety and quality documentation.

· Coach, guide, and provide training to FSQ Technicians, production personnel on all food safety procedures; GMP, Allergen, Food defense, Regulatory and Identity preserve food compliances.

· Monitor internal non-conformances and work with Production to provide corrective actions and preventive actions.

· Coordinate with Pest Control Inspection of the facility

· Assist on Customer complaint investigation and trending report.

· Non-conforming material handling management, updates log and ensure that issues are close with corresponding corrective action. Communicate directly with supplier / customer for raw material issues. Maintain QA Hold Log records and update as needed.

· GMP Walkthrough and Internal Audits, issue work orders for any findings that need immediate corrective action, involving internal repair and maintenance.

· Manage the storage of Food Safety and Quality Documents and records

· Implementation of Food Safety and HACCP Plan on the processing lines

· Perform Verification and Validation of CCPs, CQPs and Preventive Controls.

· Verify printed labels, new and updated labels from customers and create if needed.

· Manage COA’s from suppliers / customers

· Prepare samples requested by customers or 3rd party lab samples.

· As a back-up for the FSQ Director functions during her absence

· Any other special task assigned by management team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
