Payroll/Accounting Asst – Construction Company (SF Valley)
California, Los angeles, 90001 Los angeles USAGrowing construction company in the San Fernando Valley is seeking a Payroll / Accounting Specialist to join our office team. This is an in-office, full-time role with primary responsibility for payroll and related accounting tasks.
LOOKING TO FILL POSITION IMMEDIATELY
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly payroll for 60+ field and office employees
Enter and reconcile payroll data in QuickBooks
Maintain accurate employee records and wage classifications
Assist with basic accounting tasks, data entry, and reconciliations
Process garnishments, wage deductions, and other court-ordered items
Support HR with onboarding paperwork and employee file maintenance
Assist with EDD and other agency correspondence as needed
Work closely with management in a VERY fast-paced, high-volume office
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of payroll/accounting experience STRONGLY preferred
Experience in construction or a similar industry a plus
QuickBooks and Excel proficiency required
CRM experience a plus
Familiarity with California labor laws (overtime, meal periods, sick time, etc.) preferred
Prior HR experience (onboarding, terminations, files) preferred - but not required
STRONG ATTENTION TO DETAIL & ability to multitask under deadlines
Professional communication skills, written and verbal
Language:
Tagalog language skills preferred, but not required.
Additional Details:
Training will be provided to the right candidate
Position is on-site / in-office only (not remote)
