SUMMARY
Enjoy autonomy and independence as your own boss operating a boutique coffee cart by yourself under an umbrella on Santa Monica beach!
PAY
$18+ per hour plus commission (increases in correlation to hourly sales)
SCHEDULE
Non-exempt part-time 15 hours per week schedule with the base three, minimum shifts to start as the following (candidate could request additional shifts as desired):
- Friday 2:30pm to 5:30pm PDT
- Saturday 10:30am to 5:30pm PDT
- Sunday 12:30pm to 5:30pm PDT

DUTIES
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet customers, answer questions about menu items, and provide a positive experience
- Prepare and serve hot and cold coffee, and other drinks, following recipes and techniques
- Take orders, including details like coffee blend, dairy, and sugar ratios
- Receive and process payments, such as cash, venmo, credit cards, etc. (via the provided Square Terminal device: https://squareup.com/us/en/hardware/terminal)
- Tracking and ordering inventory for cafe and beverage supplies, such as coffee, cups, ice, napkins, etc.
- Maintaining machines and other equipment by cleaning, and detailing
- Keeping the work environment clean, sanitary and organized
- Greet guests and engage them in discovering their drink and food interests
- Cheerful energy and enthusiasm for customer service
- Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
- Prepare and sell drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
- Generate revenue by attracting new customers and defining new and expanded services and products
- Maintain inventories by replenishing supply and stock
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing preventative maintenance
- Cleaning machines, inventory, etc. as necessary
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
- Serve drinks in accordance with company policies.
- Inspect drinks, machines, supplies, etc. as necessary
- Adhere to customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
- Receives inventory, moves and lifts food and beverage products and supplies; maintain a solid knowledge of product and services available on cart at all times
- Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products
- Cleans and sanitizes work station and equipment
- Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent
- Cash handling and customer service experience
- Food handling techniques and kitchen sanitation experience
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all work
- Can quickly memorize recipes and prepare drinks without errors
- Candidates should be passionate about customer service and hospitality
- Ability to multi-task with strong problem-solving skills and operate under minimal supervision
- Respect for confidentiality concerning customer, vendor, and company information
- Ability to genuinely connect with others in a positive way
- 2+ years of customer service experience preferably at a cafe or coffee shop
- Familiarity with point-of-sale software, operate a computer terminal and/or cash register
- Strong work ethic
- Reliable
- Adapt and re-prioritize as situations change
- Stooping and bending at the waist, and standing to perform normal job duties; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate various kitchen/cart equipment and utensils; reaching horizontally to obtain, prepare, etc. drinks and related materials
- Requires the ability to lift, push, etc. objects weighing over 40lbs
HAZARDS
Potential hazards include but may not be limited to:
- Exposure to sharp serving utensils, electronics, machinery with heating elements, etc.

Paid training and mentoring provided.
