We are a sports bar that offers an elevated cocktail, beer, and culinary experience. We are located in a close-knit neighborhood so the main requirement of our staff is the ability to engage regulars and make everyone feel welcomed. In addition to hosting, you will be assisting management with administrative tasks and training the incoming hosts. Think of it as a “manager in training” position. This is a high-end sports focused establishment looking to provide an ideal place for families and discerning clientele to dine, watch sports, drink and relax. Our Host team plays a crucial role in bringing this vision and experience to life. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Display confidence and ownership of the host stand. Warmly welcome guests as soon as they walk in, seat reservations, and assist with maintaining the waitlist. Go through all reservations in reservation system Check the restaurant voicemail, and reservations email. Respond to inquiring guests in a timely manner and forward anything relevant or urgent to management. Prepare the daily reservations report for the kitchen and communicate special requests or allergies to servers or managers. Balance the flow of service in a thoughtful way and stay in close communication with the service team to ensure even distribution of guests. Update guest profiles and communicate with the floor team to best build guest profiles. Keeping the host area clean and organized throughout service. Assist with any opening duties that may be necessary for the day. ABOUT YOU Basic service skills, food and beverage knowledge preferred “Manager in training” mentality with the desire to excel and grow within the hospitality industry. Previous experience running a host stand in a high volume high service atmosphere. Positive and welcoming demeanor Technical proficiency in restaurant POS, reservation systems, and word processing encouraged Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment The ability to lift 50lbs and stand anywhere from 5-8 hrs per shift.
