The Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost has sponsored this search in order to recruit exceptional scholars whose teaching, scholarship and service strengthen fundamental data science in the disciplines. Faculty hired through this search are expected to be active participants in the DataX community, so building inclusive data-centric research and education across the UCLA campus is a priority. A competitive candidate should have a transformative research program and show excellence in undergraduate teaching and educational innovation. We give preference to applicants in areas of mathematics with a connection to DataX. Applicants from all fields related to DataX mathematics will be considered. Candidates must have a Ph.D (or equivalent degree) in hand by June 2025.As a campus with a diverse student body, we encourage applications from women, minorities, and individuals with a history of mentoring underrepresented minorities in the sciences.
