Civil Engineering Manager

Direct and manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in civil engineering projects and report to the Principal/President of the company. Direct, review, and approve project design changes. Consult and negotiate with clients to determine project specifications. Confer with management, engineering and design staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. Assess civil engineering project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs and market demands. Present and explain plans, proposals, reports and findings to clients. Direct and supervise preparation of project specifications by civil engineers. Direct and supervise preparation of budgets, bids and contracts. Direct recruitment and recommend placements to the Board of Directors. Evaluate civil drafting and engineering project staff and technicians. Develop, implement policies, standards and procedures for civil drafting, engineering and technical work. Establish technical goal within broad outlines provided executives of the company. Inspect construction projects and facilities to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with civil engineering requirements. Review civil engineering reports prepared by engineering staff, and approve expenditures and purchase of necessary materials and services. Enforce rules. Develop and implement programs to improve sustainability, as well as to improve environmental effects of civil engineering activities and operations of construction projects. Plan, direct and coordinate survey work with other engineering project activities. Master’s in Civil Engineering and 1 year of experience on the job. 40hrs/wk.
