KDG Construction Consulting is seeking experiencedConstruction Professionalswith previous experience working on construction projects involving Ports and Waterways. The Construction Manager will providea broad spectrum of technical, field and administrative duties associated with construction management of a Port project in Southern California. This position will work with their supporting team members in organization and review of the project management software and documents, coordination and interface with General Contractor, and oversight of project team for the project.Please Note: We are currently considering applicants whose resumes reflect the required Port/Waterway construction experience.Potential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides overall field oversight and mitigation of field conditions, reviews requests for information (RFIs), change directives (CDs), submittals, contractor change requests, and other project documentation.
Supports in the coordinationand administration ofconstruction meetings,including weekly progress meetings, pre-activity meetings, pre-construction meeting and all others as required.
Works with constructionmanagement team to review project schedules for constructability and compliance with all project requirements.
Facilitates coordination of field activities with internal and external stakeholders and contractor team.
Supports in the review and administration ofsubmittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) and other correspondence.
Coordinates with Contractor and inspectors to assist, as required, with progress payment quantity verification.
Assists with the change order process, including providing input on draft and final documents, as required.
Assists with the close-out process including:as-built drawings, punch list, technical manuals, warranties and other close out deliverables and documentation, as required
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction management or related discipline highly preferred.
5+years of related field or project engineering experience in port or waterwaystructure projects of similar construction value and complexity.
Professional Engineering License (P.E.) preferred.
Experience on projects of at least $50 million in total costs preferred.
Proven ability to perform in a field or project engineering capacity.
Advanced proficiency in MS Suite, Primavera and document management software, such as Prolog.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
