DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for performing all duties associated with the repair and maintenance of a variety of irrigation systems pertaining to the lawns, planters, open and natural areas in a resort setting. This includes understanding the operation and location of various controller boxes, backflows, gate valves and station valves. Must understand or have ability to learn the operations and scheduling our systems. Maintain lawns and landscape.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, performs or works independently/collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities, but not limited to:
Program and adjust irrigation times on a regular basis due to changing conditions.
Write new schedules at the central controller.
Locate all backflows on grounds and the areas they effect.
Know the locations of all controller boxes, gate valves, and each station on grounds.
Understand and troubleshoot valve operations components including solenoids and diaphragm replacement.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and replace broken sprinkler valves.
Maintain an organized inventory of all assigned tools, irrigation supplies, and equipment.
Dig trenches with hand tools, repair irrigation, and replace landscape to its original condition.
Participate in composting and mulching activities.
Participate in landscape activities such as blowing, sweeping, line trimming and mowing.
Participate in basic maintenance duties of our grounds.
Mowing, edging, shrub and ground cover trim, weed control, blowing off walks, fertilizing, picking up trash, picking up papers, moving boulders, trimming low hanging branches from trees, and open to learning new things.
Able to Safely operate company equipment such as; lawn mower, hedge trimmer, weed eater, blower, rake etc.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Individual must possess knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge skills and abilities.
Operate the company vehicles safely for resort-related work.
Must possess knowledge of maintenance, use, safe operation, and repair of cleaning supplies, tools and equipment. Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
Must have knowledge of safe working methods and procedures.
Must be able to effectively and efficiently clean and maintain an assigned landscaped area within a predetermined time schedule.
Must be able to establish daily priorities.
Must be able to adapt successfully to changing situations or circumstances.
Requires ability to learn proper use of fire extinguishers.
Must have ability to work well without continuous supervision.
Must wear safety equipment as required.
Performs multiple tasks and responds to others in a timely manner. Works both independently and as a collaborative member of the department and the company.
Must be able to understand and follow basic instructions in English, both orally and written.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this part-time position are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., days to be determined and could be subject to change depending on needs of the company. Overtime, holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the company.
CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a non-exempt position.
This is a regular, full-time position. 40 hours.
