Staff Accountant

Description Zach Robertson "Recruiting Manager" at Robert Half is looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join a team in the manufacturing industry, in Hanford California. The role involves various accounting tasks including basic month-end closing procedures, financial report preparation, and financial analysis.Responsibilities Conduct basic month-end closing procedures and prepare account reconciliations Create manual journal entries as needed Prepare and present monthly financial reporting package Analyze financial statement accounts to identify unusual trends or erroneous entries, and verify the accuracy of transactions and balances Develop and implement procedures to streamline month-end close and other financial activities Assist with various projects assigned to the Accounting Department Assist in the preparation of weekly management reports KPI’s Understand the integration of sub-ledgers into accounting/enterprise systems Manage fixed asset accounting Demonstrate familiarity with Cost Accounting and strong Excel Skills Maintain high energy level and show a strong desire to learn and understand the fundamentals in accounting, manufacturing and related areas like inventory, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Fixed Assets, Costing, Financial Reporting, General Ledger accounting Comply with all company policies and procedures Assist with any other duties as assigned.Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing industry. Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Strong skills in performing Bank Reconciliations. Experience maintaining and updating the General Ledger. Proficient in creating and posting Journal Entries. Experience in performing Month End Close processes. Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Strong computational and mathematical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
