What You’ll DoAs a veterinary kennel technician, you’ll play an important role in the daily care and comfort of hospitalized patients and boarding pets. You’ll work closely with veterinary assistants and doctors to make sure every animal receives attentive, compassionate care.Your responsibilities will include:Feeding, watering, walking, bathing, and caring for hospitalized and boarding animalsCleaning kennels, treatment areas, equipment, and other veterinary spacesAdministering medications as directed after appropriate trainingMonitoring appetite, behavior, medications, and overall condition and documenting observations accuratelyRecognizing and communicating changes or abnormal conditions to the veterinary teamProviding post-operative care and assisting with hospitalized patientsAssisting veterinary assistants and doctors with safe animal restraint and examinationsRestocking veterinary and hospital suppliesCompleting laundry and maintaining clean, organized work areasLearning proper cleaning and sterilization procedures for surgical instrumentsFollowing written and verbal instructions and maintaining accurate patient records
