As a Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment and commercial trucks. This role requires extensive knowledge of various types of equipment and trucks, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, dump trucks, and semi-trucks. The ideal candidate will be proficient in repairing and maintaining various mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, and axle systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment and commercial trucks.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other system issues.

Disassemble and reassemble engines, transmissions, axles, and other major components.

Conduct diagnostic tests using specialized tools and equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment and trucks are in optimal working condition.

Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.

Order and maintain an inventory of necessary parts and supplies.

Comply with safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and expertise.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements.

Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment and commercial truck systems and components.

Strong mechanical and technical skills.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, and axle systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety regulations.

Strong attention to detail.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM, or other industry-specific certifications).

Prior experience working as a heavy equipment and truck mechanic.

Welding and fabrication skills.

Computer proficiency for equipment diagnostics.
