IMMEDIATE HIRE - Shipping Specialist

Job Summary: Responsible to collaborate with internal departments and external resources to ensure shipments and pick-ups are processed accurately per customer requirements.
Reports To:
Distribution Manager
Essential Functions:
Create Advance Shipping Notices (ASN) such as packing lists, pick tickets and bill of ladings.
Assist sales support team with customer shipment notifications regarding backorder and short items including updating portals.
Assist sales support team with data and inventory where reasonable and in line with ASN duties
Processes Picking Tickets
Generates EDI, ASN’s and invoices per customer requirements
Arranges and manages FedEx/UPS shipments and pick-ups
Confirm orders, check quantities as well as resolving any issues that may arise prior to product shipment
Resolve any inventory issues, escalating to management as needed
Make and execute decisions regarding delivery needs of customer orders
Request, update, locate inventory for order pickers and communicate daily priorities, pick-up times or delays
Manage relationships with transportation providers, vendors, and others to help resolve shipping issues
Follow up on order and shipping errors to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction
Evaluate current processes and suggest any appropriate improvements to increase efficiency and better the customer experience
Perform duties safely and report unsafe conditions or actions
Comply with the Company SOP’s
Provide information or indication of problems to Management or Quality Assurance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in order fulfillment, inventory management, and strong understanding of shipping processes.
Must demonstrate attention to detail, orientation to quality, deductive reasoning, problem sensitivity, social perception, and customer service
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures, data entry and cGMP’s
Education and Experience:
Mathematical Skills – Accuracy with arithmetic, subtraction, multiplication, division, and decimals
Language Skills – Must be able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing
Computer Skills – Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, 10-key, and other business-related software
