Job Description

The

Data Science Lead serves as the primary liaison between leadership and data scientists to leverage information adding value to the organization's workforce. This position works with all levels of HR staff as well as leadership across the organization in assessing needs for various business functions and assists management in identifying, analyzing and recommending data products that add business value. Projects consist of small ad-hoc information requests to large cross functional data initiatives. The Data Science Lead role requires strong communication skills, the ability to guide teams end-to-end from problem definition through solution presentation while providing mentorship to members of the HR Analytics team.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Uses business, domain and system knowledge to execute on requested analytics projects as well as seeking out new high value opportunities to leverage data for people-centered analytics.

· Turns complex knowledge into simple and compelling presentations supporting the data sense making journey for the workforce.

· Leads and facilitates problem definition and requirements sessions as a trusted advisor to Human Resources stakeholders

· Mentors analysts in learning the systems, processes, business and industry knowledge necessary to advance the company's analytics goals.

· Researches and resolves data inquiries and requests

· Provides insights and serves as a subject matter expert for department data

· Documents requirements for data science and reporting projects.

· Creates presentations for senior leaders, which are often used to build board level presentations.

· Develops and manages end-to-end project plans and ensures on-time delivery.

· Collaborates with internal customers, analysts, developers, data scientists, and database administrators.

· Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical field (Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, etc.)

· Experience with reporting and visualization tools (SSRS, Power BI, Crystal Reports, Tableau, etc.)

· 2 years of demonstrated proficiency with quantitative tools including MS SQL, SAS, R, Python or similar statistical software

· Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree or 6 years of experience in an analytical role

· 3 years of in-depth hands-on relational database and reporting experience including the ability to write SQL

· Strong skills in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas, pivot tables, connecting to databases and cubes as well as experience in VBA and macros
