Driver / Warehouse Manager

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Drive company van picking up donations daily from local stores, and our separate storage locations.

Provide professional customer service at all times to partner agencies, volunteers, food donors and the general public.

Provide professional telephone service. Answer incoming telephone calls, field questions about the organization, and provide other information as needed.

Interact with SEAFB agency members, volunteers and donors in executive director's absence.

Maintain warehouse/store sanitation standards both inside and outside the building, which includes freezers, coolers, office and bathroom. Assist with snow removal when needed.

Welcome and direct on-site visitors.

Support organizational mission to end hunger.

This position will average 35 hours per week. 4 day work week Monday - Thursday. Occasional overtime may be required.

Other duties as assigned.

The Southeast Alaska Food Bank (SEAFB) is located in a 2,400 square foot building that contains a warehouse and a food bank (store) which is used to distribute food to our 33 partner food program charities (member agencies) and their clients. The SEAFB is an affiliate of Food Bank of Alaska (FBA), located in Anchorage, and Feeding America, the largest hunger relief organization in America with a nationwide network of food banks that provide food security to the hungry.

Our Mission: To provide access to nutritious food for those who are without serving as a community bridge between those who want to help and those who are in need.

Qualifications:

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

High school diploma or GED.

Valid Alaska Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Good communication skills, both written and oral.

Good interpersonal and public relations skills.

Good basic math skills.

Highly Detail-oriented, with good organizational skills.

Able to safely perform tasks involving occasional heavy lifting up to 60 pounds.

Commitment to organizational mission to end hunger.

Physical demands:

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. This is a physical job, the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pound containers through a normal shift . The noise level in the work environment is typical for a small warehouse.
