Alaska, Anchorage / mat-su, 99501 Anchorage / mat-su USA70 North Air Service is looking to hire a ground support (“ramper”) worker for full time shift rotation work at our base at the Deadhorse airport in Prudhoe Bay Alaska.
Job Summary:
The ramper will carry out ground support duties associated with daily operations, support of maintenance of aircraft, maintenance, and upkeep of facilities, expediting and other support duties as assigned. Ramper duties and assignments may overlap with other position responsibilities depending on operational requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive and inventory cargo/freight from shipping companies and supplies from vendors/shippers. Ensure all cargo/freight is properly protected from extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
Loading, unloading, securing, and staging of aircraft cargo or baggage as directed.
Marshalling of aircraft, watching for obstacles on the ground, and making sure the aircraft is not in harm’s way.
Other Duties
Assist pilots and mechanics with maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of ground equipment or aircraft, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment as directed and supervised.
Expediting tools, materials, and supplies.
Cleaning and organizing work area, machines, and tools.
Cleanliness of hangar, office, and living quarters
Other duties as assigned.
Working conditions:
Working conditions include both inside and outside, exposure to range of climate conditions from inclement to extreme weather, below zero temperatures, high winds, reduced visibility. Remote conditions. Length of the duty day may vary. Ability to cope with constant darkness in the winter to perpetual sunlight in summer.
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Valid Driver’s license.
Pass USPS background check.
\Physical Requirements:
Physical demands that are essential to the job include standing, walking, bending, climbing up to aircraft.
Lifting up to 60lbs routinely and safely, and occasionally heavier items, carrying boxes, bags, and various objects. Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds at a time.
