Journeyman Electrician

Immediate Opening

Vannoy Electric is currently seeking an outgoing, energetic, self-motivated, Journeyman electrician to join our team. This is a full - time position offered.

We are looking for a presentable service electrician with good troubleshooting skills working mostly with small business owners and single to multi-unit residents. On occasion will assist on larger commercial projects. Excellent Customer Service is our Top Priority.

The successful applicant will often be the first point of contact our customers will have with Vannoy Electric. We place a lot of value in an employee who can make our clients feel at ease and be comfortable having one of our technicians in their building.

Descriptive Narrative of Position:

Willingness to provide the highest level of customer service is top priority

Determine condition of electrical equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and determine needed repairs

Identify materials and quantities for new and repair projects

Evaluate customer requests and provide work order descriptions for the department manager and service coordinator to price projects(?)

Operate with safety as a primary concern for self and customer.

Detail orientated paperwork.

Base Requirements:

Valid Alaska Driver's License-must meet our driver insurers minimums. Marks on your license does not immediately disqualify applicants.

State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness Journeyman's Card-you will be responsible to keep current.

Reliable Transportation

Excellent Communication and customer service skills

All trade related tools

Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Ensure that all work is in accordance with NEC Codes

Properly reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams

Gathering appropriate material for daily tasks

Installing conduits using a hand or mechanical bender

Install new wires in existing systems or repairing old wiring

Providing power and controls to motors, HVAC, and other equipment

Professional appearance and personality, positive attitude, team play who can work independently.

Troubleshooting and repairing all systems

Residential experience is not necessary but helpful.
