DEPARTMENT: Municipal Attorney - Civil Law Division HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. LOCATION: City Hall 632 W 6th Avenue Example of DutiesAssistant Municipal Attorney positions function as an assistant to the Municipal Attorney to provide the full range of legal services on requests from the Mayor, Manager, Chief Executive Officers and Municipal Assemblly, either directly or through the Municipal Attorney as appropriate and assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesGraduation from an accredited school of law, must be admitted to the State of Alaska Bar Association, and four (4) years of experience as a Municipal Attorney I with the Municipality of Anchorage or the equivalent elsewhere. Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver’s license and satisfactory driving record at time of hire. Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) / National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within 30 days of hire. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual’s command organization and show the name, signature, title and contact information for the signer providing the statement of service.
