Electrical Engineer
Alaska, Anchorage / mat-su, 99501 Anchorage / mat-su USAKinney Engineering, LLC is seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented professional electrical engineer to join our team. We’re looking for someone who will work with our senior electrical engineer to support our civil engineering projects and has the desire to develop and grow an electrical engineering department. The position is full time, permanent (40 hours per week) with excellent benefits. Applicants interested in 30 hours per week (still eligible for benefits) are also encouraged to apply.

Our areas of expertise include civil, transportation, traffic, and electrical engineering; GIS; intelligent transportation systems (ITS); transportation planning; hydrology and hydraulics; and utility design.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design with increasing levels of responsibility.
Experience in the design of power systems with emphasis on distribution lines, line extensions, transformers, load centers, equipment, controls, and protection.
State of Alaska Electrical Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain one within six months of being hired.
Familiarity with electrical design codes and standards (NEC, NESC, NFPA, UL, etc.).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with Word, Excel, and other MS 365 applications.
Experience with AutoCAD and electrical design software (Design Master, Agi32, etc.).
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
Traffic signals and PTZ/CCTV camera systems
Outdoor lighting for highways, trails, parking, etc.
Thaw wire and motor vehicle plug-ins
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Off-grid alternative power sources (solar photovoltaic, wind, batteries, generators)
Airfield lighting and NAVAIDs
Fiber optic, broadband, ethernet, wireless radio, and cellular communications
Marketing and business development
Mentoring other engineers and designers
