We are an Electrical Services Company contracting in three distinct areas: Industrial, Commercial and Residential. Our teams serve some of Alaska’s premier oilfield service, exploration and production and construction companies. Our contracts are in both private and government arena as well as serving the general populace through our in house On-call Residential service department.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Construction Accounting Specialist, you will support our accounting department taking on nearly half of our revenue responsibilities, with various tasks including cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in construction cost accounting, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for construction projects.
Assist in tracking project costs including labor, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring accurate reporting and cost allocation.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and construction industry best practices.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
Reconcile project-related accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of change orders, contract billing, and payments.
Collaborate with the project management team to verify estimates v actual costs
Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
Assist with payroll processing for construction employees and subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS:
2-3 years of experience in construction bookkeeping or cost accounting.
Knowledge of construction accounting principles and cost tracking.
Knowledge of construction payroll.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks).
Experience with Federal and State regulated projects
Experience working with $3M-$4M in annual revenue
Familiarity with project management software and its integration with accounting systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
High school diploma or GED; AA in Accounting or related field preferred.
Experience in a construction environment is a MUST.

$28-$34 DOE

This is a 30/hr. week position that will grow into fulltime hours within 3-4 months.
