Always the right career direction.Job Description SummaryBuilding Automation Technician II will perform a variety of duties related to design, development, improvement and project management of the Building Automation System/s (BAS). BAS includes active systems for HVAC and Access Controls from both Trane & Honeywell control systems. They will Inspect, troubleshoot and maintain the BAS systems, which may involve trades or contract personnel when necessary, to make repairs or adjustments. Building Automation Technician II will also review the existing BAS systems and recommend, assist with design of or help the Energy Manager in the revision of the existing systems which may include scheduling and programming changes in the system. The BAS Tech II will monitor equipment operations and make adjustments as it relates to energy management. Review/validate daily reports from BAS systems and address anomalies. All work pertaining to the operations of the BAS will be initiated by the Director Plant Operations or the Energy Manager.Job DescriptionQUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of college or trade school curriculum in related field.
At least 2 years minimum experience with Trane and Honeywell BAS software and related hardware.
At least 2 years minimum experience with Honeywell Access Control software and related hardware.
Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting and installing controls on field related control devices and related networking systems of the Hospital BAS.
Ability to read and understand control wiring diagrams and hospital blue prints. Knowledge of CMS, ADPH, State and local building safety and compliance codes.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professionalism in customer relations a must.
Must be able to promote positive behavior in others in working with various trades’ related departments.
Ability to utilize the internet, intranet and e-mail.
Ability to utilize radio and paging system.
SKILLS:
Field experience with startup and troubleshooting of commercial Electrical/ HVAC systems and must be comfortable in talking with experienced field contractor personnel through troubleshooting and installation issues via phone or face-to-face.
Assist the Energy Manager in performing necessary commissioning, diagnostic and maintenance procedures(such as field verification of system functions to ensure the proper operation of the Building Automation System)
Knowledge of database management, data communication devices and installations, hardware configurations and reporting mechanisms as related to BAS.
Assist the Energy Manager in editing computer programs for building automation system points.
Ability to maintain and repair all BAS related issues involving field controllers to field devices and field points.
Ability to maintain and repair all Variable Air Volume and Constant Air Volume Systems and related controls that will affect the climate of the facility and the efficiency as it relates to energy conservation.
Assist the Energy Manager in the implementation of energy conservation measures by utilizing and/or modifying the existing building automation system features (such as mathematical computation and environmental controls and the development of Energy Analytics).
