Senior Accountant

Description If you have accounting experience and want to work with a well-respected Automotive firm, Robert Half has an opening for a Senior Accountant. Key parts of the role include preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for working in fast-paced environments are musts. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Automotive field and is located in Clanton, Alabama. This position comes with solid compensation, benefits, and advancement opportunities.Major responsibilities

Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP

Engage in various department-wide initiatives

Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary

Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes Requirements - Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

Previous experience working with SAP

Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

Good understanding of general ledger

ADP - Payroll experience desired

Journal entries experience highly preferred

Earlier work involving Month-end Journal Entries

General familiarity with SOX

Knowledge of bi-Monthly Payroll

Strong familiarity with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

Demonstrated knowledge of Profit and loss

Foundational knowledge in fixed assets

Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)

Background working with Ledger Journal Entries

Practical knowledge of SOX

BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Skilled at time management

Experience with ERP systems

Ability to meet deadlines

Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills

High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
