Work you'll do

We're looking for talented engineers with a software or operations background and experience in designing and operating large-scale highly available distributed systems in the cloud. As an SRE engineer, you will work with multiple teams across Deloitte organizations to introduce SRE principles, establish reliability goals (SLO, SLI and error budget), develop tools for operational observability and implementing automation to reduce TOIL. You will be working closely with our application development teams to ensure the reliability and performance of Deloitte ITS infrastructure.

This is a true hybrid role where skills in software development, cloud architecture, networking, security, and systems administration can be applied daily, and offers the opportunity to work with a virtually endless array of technology, tools, patterns, and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate and work closely with the software engineers to ensure that Deloitte infrastructure and services are designed and optimized for availability, latency and performance
  • Drive and build automation wherever possible, enabling our infrastructure and platforms to scale effortlessly.
  • Participate in and contribute to improving our incident response.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA), Troubleshoot and debug issues across our infrastructure and platform services to identify and fix root cause.
  • Participate in Capacity planning for the infrastructure and platform and help teams prepare for growth.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud native services in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform that are elastic and resilient to failure.

Technology & Infrastructure

The Technology and Infrastructure Organization works together to transform how ITS deploys technologies and services to meet the dynamic needs of Deloitte professionals and help increase their productivity.

Qualifications

Required:
  • 5+ years of software development, software engineering and/or system operations experience supporting cloud offering
  • 1-3 years of Experience with DevOps engineering or SRE
  • 3+ years of experience architecting, deploying, supporting IaaS and PaaS cloud infrastructure in Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • 3+ years of Experience with CICD pipelines with tools like Azure Devops, GitLab, GitHub Actions, AWS Code Build/Code Pipeline, Jenkins
  • 3+ years of experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet
  • Demonstrated proficiency with two or more relevant programming or scripting languages. Examples include Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Linux shell scripting
  • Exceptional communication skills, and the ability to communicate professionally with both business and technical teams
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:
  • Ability to work remotely with little or no direct supervision
  • Ability to recognize and prioritize critical tasks independently
