Position Purpose:

Primary function of the HR Manager is to manage the daily function of Human Resources. The position coordinates HR policies and programs for Teton Science Science Schools, insuring that the organization is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. They are an integral part of Teton Science Schools DEI initiative. They work with managers to resolve employee relations issues. In addition, the position works closely with the Chief People Officer in developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing HR policies and programs.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning employee benefits and payroll
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at time stressful environment
  • Demonstrated experience within Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Proficient with Google Suite
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources
  • Prior payroll and benefits management experience

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Responsibilities:

95% Human Resource Management

  • Direct and supervise all activities relating to the administration and maintenance of payroll and employee benefits programs.
  • Responsible for the daily administration of other HR services, including oversight of recruitment, compensation,

performance evaluations, affirmative action/EEO compliance and others as directed or assigned

  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting Human Resources. Work with the CPO to review policies and implement change, when applicable.
  • Works with managers to resolve employee relation issues
  • Supervisor to the HR Administrator

5% One TSS Responsibilities

  • Sits on the Operations Team
  • Engages and collaborates across TSS program areas when possible.
  • Cross markets TSS programs when opportunities arise.
  • Contribute to inclusive work and learning environments through continually developing cultural competency. Cultural Competence is one’s ability to interact effectively across various dimensions of diversity. It lies at the intersection of awareness of others, self-awareness, and applying skills & knowledge to promote inclusion and equity
