What you will be doing:

Frog Creek Partners is seeking a Superintendent of Operations (“Super”) to supervise the manufacturing, fulfillment, logistics, service and installation of Gutter Bins, a stormwater filtration insert for stormwater drains, headquartered in Casper. The ideal candidate is organized, energetic and skilled at contract management and getting sht done.

The Super may help with the design of new or existing products, and then oversee and manage the process to cut, break, weld, sew, and fit up the Gutter Bin and Mundus Bag components. The Super will seek to streamline processes and implement cost-cutting measures in the manufacturing and delivery of company products.

The Super will be responsible for, through working with other FCP team members, ensuring that project systems are in place to ensure effective project delivery and outcomes consistent with project objectives.

The Super is also responsible for the measurement, delivery, and installation of FCP products. The role will liaise with multiple team members to create measurement techniques and equipment to make the job easier and safer. The Super will install or manage the installation of products at the customer’s location, including the delivery of the product. The Super may also liaise with third-party vendors or customers to obtain measurements or train them to install the FCP products.

Safety is a priority at Frog Creek Partners. The role will be responsible for project health, safety and environmental performance including, where appropriate, the development of project systems and standards. In some circumstances, the Super will be responsible for putting together a project team including resources from within and external to the business.

The Super is a highly visible role with many opportunities to interact with new or existing customers. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in sales and customer acquisition conversations, in addition to the duties outlined above.

Finally, because Frog Creek Partners is a start-up company, the Super will be required to perform a plurality of tasks that may not be customarily assigned to the position. For example, the FCP shop/office needs to be built out and improved so the Super may be tasked with performing duties such as metal work, product assembly, carpentry, equipment maintenance, and performing menial tasks to further the business of the company. Basically, no task is too small, and no job is too big.

What are your duties?

  • Manage the manufacturing, assembly, shipping, installation, and servicing of FCP products
  • Manage the Clean and Measure Pollution Service (CAMP Service)
  • Ongoing development and implementation of the systems and structure that supports the methodology of how FCP delivers projects successfully and consistently regardless of physical location
  • Where appropriate, developing project scope, budget and schedule
  • Managing the execution of the work, including identifying and allocating appropriate resources to ensure delivery of projects on budget and on schedule
  • Identifying suitable contractors, negotiating commercial contracts and managing contracts during execution
  • Coordinating product manufacturing with the engineering department and suppliers
  • Managing the health and safety of employees and contractors during project works in accordance with FCP health and safety requirements
  • Securing, where required, any necessary local, government or stakeholder approvals and/or ensuring that all work is carried out within the scope of any relevant approvals
  • Providing progress reports and meeting high return targets
  • Communication with clients and customers regarding fulfillment and warranty work
  • Create training material and deliver presentation to clients

A successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial or related engineering discipline
  • Product manufacturing and manufacturing efficiency training (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Experience with engineering, procurement and construction of manufactured products
  • Good driving skills with a clean record and able to work in high traffic areas while being safe and performing company duties
  • Practical experience in health, safety and environment management
  • Experience in managing the execution of multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management
  • Prior project management experience
  • Understanding of project execution systems and processes required for the successful delivery of projects
  • Experience in establishing project scopes, budgets and schedules
  • Experience in measuring and report progress against key parameters including budget and schedule
  • Experience in sales and customer service
  • A passion for clean water and environment
  • Understanding of international engineering and industry standards
  • Technical proficiency in: MS Office Suite, Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides), DropBox, and Slack
  • Strong MS Excel skills and technical writing skills

Nice to haves:

  • Prior startup experience
  • Familiarity with stormwater pollution abatement practices
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
