Position Title: Dental Patient Care Coordinator - (1+ Year Dental Exp Req)
Position Type: Full-time

Location: Wauwatosa, WI
We are currently seeking a driven and team-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Generations Family Dental! The PCC represents the practice in all facets of patient services, which may include, but is not limited to greeting patients, answering the telephone, verifying and discussing insurance benefits, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, discussing financial options, and coordinating patient flow.
Essential Duties:
Greets visitors and patients entering the practice by their name and alerts appropriate staff of patient arrivals
Answers telephone, routes calls, provides information, and takes messages in accordance with practice procedures
Schedules and adjusts patient appointments to maximize the patient care and reach practice profit target
Manages the daily, weekly, and monthly calendar to meet the practice production and collection goals
Establishes, maintains, and keeps patient files and records up to date (i.e. address, phone number, insurance information, etc.)
Communicates with patients regarding financial options, including reconciling and recording patient payments
Prepares correspondence, memos, condolence letters, and other documents, as requested by doctor
Contacts patients to remind them of a scheduled appointment time
Monitors patient schedules and adjust or reschedule appointments as needed
Registers new patients and ensures necessary paperwork and required documents are submitted
Verifies and determines insurance eligibility, limitations, and payment estimates to facilitate financial arrangements with patients
Corresponds with insurance companies to resolve payment delays, requests for additional information, or to discuss denied coverage on patient treatment
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and mails patients’ monthly statements on a regular billing cycle
Make collection calls and follow through with correspondence regarding collection
Educates patients as necessary
Adheres to all safety and health regulations
Perform all other related duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have at least one year of experience in a dental practice
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills
Solid knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to stressful situations
Excellent computer skills for email correspondence, financial transactions, and scheduling of appointments
Efficient multi-tasking and organizational skills
Maturity, tact, integrity, and respect for patient confidentiality
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
May be required to lift up to 10lbs
Active movement throughout the day: sitting, walking, standing, squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, etc. (not a sedentary position)
May be required to administer CPR
Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and radiation
Exposure to moderate noise levels and fast-paced environments
May be required to travel between practice locations as needed
