The Opportunity: As a Copywriter, you will play a key role in the WisDems Digital Department, quickly writing engaging digital content that will be used to optimize the Party’s online presence. You will work on engaging copy to maximize fundraising and volunteering recruitment, leaning into high ROI opportunities and responding to the news cycle. Reporting to the Deputy Digital Director, you will support the department’s multiple digital programs by creating written pieces for social media, email, SMS, and digital ads. Job Responsibilities:

Write compelling copy across all digital channels, including social media, email, and SMS campaigns, and digital ads for storytelling, fundraising, and audience engagement.

Edit and proo all digital copy before it goes live, with high attention to detail.

Develop and maintain the WisDems voice and tone, while being mindful of how they differ by platform.

Use data-driven analysis to guide all copy decisions.

Collaborate with other colleagues within the department—social media, email and SMS, ads, and design teams—to help them hit collective narrative and fundraising goals.

On-year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election preparation as necessary.

Diverse Digital Platform Experience - Has strong familiarity with various digital and/or political communications platforms—and how written copy differs from one to the next (e.g. social media vs. email vs. SMS vs. ads)

Qualifications (Preferred):

Design skills; specifically graphic design and video editing.

Knowledge of digital campaigning tools including ActionNetwork, WordPress, ActBlue, and social media platforms.

Work experience on Democratic campaigns or at progressive advocacy organizations.
