- Utilizing Power BI to create a small capital projects dashboard that retrieves data via query utilizing joins to access multiple tables. Data is refreshed twice daily.
- Utilizing Power BI to create a large capital projects dashboard and project tracker that retrieves data via query utilizing joins to access multiple tables. Data is refreshed twice daily.
- Develops scalable and innovative approaches to extracting, managing, scrubbing, analyzing, and presenting data, while using customer and business knowledge to assess validity.
- Optimizes data models, through normalization when appropriate, and performs data profiling and analysis to assist in understanding the data.
- Conducts requirements gathering in the development of tools, processes, and visuals in support of engineering and project management.
- Maintains Electrical system, Gas system, and projects data for reporting and consumption by the Engineering department. This includes tracking of results and development of visual tools and dashboards.
- Development and implementation of procedures and communication tools to coordinate execution of multi-year plan. Including with Transmission Owners (TOs).
- Administers the Electric Capital Projects Database and PI Historian archive database configuration.
- Experienced working relationships with other department peers as appropriate (GIS, Asset Management, IT, etc.). Participates on teams as assigned.
- Creates Power BI tools and Dashboards utilizing database connections and joins along with static data in Excel.
- Maintains and improves Excel based engineering tools.
- Encouraged to develop and improve new and existing tools and work practices using their knowledge and the resources available.
- Experienced collaboration with others responsible for analytics.
- Provides mentorship to less experienced Power Systems Analysts.
- Maintains standard operating procedures for model development.
- Owns the development of structure and format for organizing planning records and documentation.
- Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis inComputer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering or related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience
- Experience with programming languages (i.e., SQL, VBA), basic understanding on data integration, statistics concepts and regression analysis
- Experience with Visualization Tools (e.g, Power BI) required
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate information clearly and optimally both verbally and in writing
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment
- Self-directed and able to plan/prioritize tasks
- Able to create and deliver presentations to convey data
