Seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our Information Security team to help drive our organization to the next level. Our flexible work environment presents a unique security opportunity to work with a team and organization that presents endless potential to evaluate, test, and deploy secure solutions into the Spectrum Brands Environment. You will work closely with Engineering and Application counterparts to prioritize potential threat vectors for new or existing features and drive security from design to production.

Job Summary

You will work as part of a team to implement the Information Security design for Cloud usage throughout the enterprise, enforce compliance with Security policies, controls, and function as a technical SME on various projects.

The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for implementing security best practices about network, infrastructure and application for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud deployments. The Cloud Security Engineer will help establish and drive the decision-making for infrastructure, network, platform, and application security architecture design and implement solutions to difficult engineering and security problems. The Cloud Security Engineer will mature enterprise security solutions to meet business goals and support global IT counterparts. The role identifies assets and assess risks, threats, and vulnerabilities in accordance with accepted business and regulations to ensure security design integrity, availability, and confidentiality compliance. This position supports Spectrum Brands' global divisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an active member of Design & Build IT projects, steering cloud configurations and services towards industry-leading security with your domain expertise
  • Actively assess existing cloud implementations, identifying security issues and prioritizing fixes
  • Provide mitigation recommendations to reduce identified security risks
  • Work directly with internal IT staff and customer to establish and enforce IT security best practices, protection objectives, process improvements and effective IT security controls
  • Thoroughly understand software installations, systems monitoring and troubleshooting, account management, and overall efforts to minimize system downtime
  • Drive security execution within a cross-functional team to architect, engineer and implement security controls within Azure
  • Works in active partnership with technical stakeholders (solution, infrastructure, and application architects) to deliver security cloud governance

Education and Experience Profile

  • Minimum Associate degree in CS or equivalent, Bachelors preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a combination of functional technical experience with aspects of major enterprise business systems and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking architecture, cloud operations, security, automation, and orchestration
  • Clear understanding of security protocols and standards and experience with software/security architectures
  • Strong experience with cloud security strategy, cloud provider ecosystems (Azure, AWS, Google) and migrating Enterprise from traditional data center Infrastructure, Application and Data designs to hybrid or fully-cloud enabled practices
  • Experience designing and engineering secure solutions within IaaS/PaaS/SaaS cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of network based, system level, and application layer attacks and mitigation methods
  • Experience with the development, deployment, and automation of security solutions in an enterprise cloud-based environment
  • Experience with or understanding of a broad range of security technologies including IDS/IPS, IAM, Certificate Management, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of technology and security topics including network and application security, infrastructure hardening, security baselines, web server, and database security
  • An understanding of identity federation, authentication, and authorization (SAML, OIDC, OAuth)

Must have experience in at least 6 of the following:

  • Azure Defender Office/Endpoint/Identity
  • Azure Security Center
  • Azure Security and Identity (MFA, SSO, AAD)
  • Azure Sentinel
  • Good understanding of security frameworks (NIST, CIS)
  • Experience with CI/CD development pipelines and integrating security mindset and processes with development teams
  • Experience with public/private repositories, product/project management tool suites
  • Experience with common scripting languages (Python, Ruby)
  • SAP or SAP S4HANA

  • Ability to communicate clear deliverables and timeline for projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively interact with business stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to proficiently translate business questions or problems into adaptive reporting solutions
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with varying degree of responsibility; must have effective time management and delegation skills.
  • Must be able to analyze complex data, situations and develop range of solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis in being able to manage different personality styles and cultural differentiation are required.
