Altra Federal Credit Union is looking to fill a Full Time Payments Supervisor position in the Financial Services department at the Operations Center in Onalaska, WI. In this position, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Payment Specialists, some staff in-person and some staff working from home while maintaining cohesion and providing support to the team, as well as keeping the team engaged with Altra’s culture and business units.

The Payments Supervisor will be required to follow all policies and procedures, maintain compliance in various regulations as it relates to the payments function, and act as liaison for issues with Instant Issue, Debit Cards, ACH, Inclearings, and other payment related items between the front line and department.

Supervisory duties include, but are not limited to:

Maintain personnel records, conducting monthly one-on-ones with team, training new and existing staff, department scheduling, workflow coordination and provide backup for major duties as needed

Maintain and update payments procedures for all payment related tasks and assist with implementing payments procedures for new products or services, branches, etc.

Serve as the primary contact and Subject Matter Expert for everything related to all Payments related products.

Coordinate and assist with the setup of all members utilizing ACH Origination.

Oversee all aspect of the wire process. This could include training front line employees on the product, understanding the programs used and trouble shooting issues as they arise.

Work with other Altra departments to ensure all payments-related products are operating as efficiently as possible, both front line and back office. Qualified candidates will be required to have a High School diploma, GED or HSED and an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a business-related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but will consider candidates with appropriate work experience. Must have a minimum three (3) years of financial institution experience. Supervisory experience or participation in Altra’s internal leadership program is preferred.

Must have good organizational and decision-making skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to successfully make presentation to managers/staff, proficiency in PowerPoint a plus. Above average proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet software, working knowledge of Word or similar word processing software. Above average ability to work with all types of personal computers and software products. Working knowledge of credit union regulations with an emphasis on electronic funds.

This position is full time, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday between the operating hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and is located at the Operations Center in Onalaska, WI.

Experience

Required
