Job Description

American Girl is looking for an Sr. Electrical Maintenance Technician who is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing and upgrading electrical and mechanical equipment, components and machinery for our Distribution Center in DeForest.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able complete moderate and complex level projects independently.
  • Assess current state and condition of electrical controls and write cost analysis reports for maintaining and upgrading machinery and electrical and controls systems. In cooperation with the Facilities Supervisor, design maintenance schedules for all systems to ensure they remain in proper working order.
  • Assigned preventative maintenance tasks through CMMS on all equipment to be completed on a yearly basis or as required by the manufacturer.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of a variety of equipment to include, motors, electrical circuits, support equipment, and all mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Learn to safely operate packing peanut extruder including learning the proper operation of the loose fill system.
  • Following and maintaining all Mattel and OSHA safety standards and regulations.
  • Provide training and written documentation for peers on how to properly identify, accurately communicate, and remedy systems problems keeping down time to a minimum and all personnel out of harm’s way.
  • Track parts and supplies, and requisition replenishments as needed.
  • Provide support to other facilities departments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work independently, while also ensuring team members understand issues, timelines, etc.
  • Ability to work as a team and provide good service to employees outside of the maintenance department.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong Communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate issues, recommendations and considerations to non-technical team members.
  • Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams a plus.
  • Ability to work with many different tools, including, but not limited to standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers), power tools (drills, saws), forklifts, electrician tools (multimeter).
  • Ability to mentor Techs on tasks needed to support the team

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years of job-related maintenance experience with at least 3 years of experience in environments such as electrical, manufacturing, industrial and distribution would be preferred.
  • Journeyman electrician license a plus, but not required.
  • Extensive experience with material handling conveyor control hardware including, but not limited to, the Allen-Bradley PLC (SLC505 models) line including Rockwell Software, SICK (430s) barcode scanners, Wonderware Intouch, and Panelview operator interfaces.
  • Strong trouble shooting skills to maintain a Distribution Center containing motors, VFDs (variable frequency drives), photo-eyes, solenoids etc.
  • Knowledge of WMS (warehouse management systems) and WCS (warehouse control systems) helpful.
  • Strong PLC Knowledge (Ladder Logic) programming experience to trouble shoot and provide continuous improvement to conveyors performance and efficiencies.
  • Experience with operating a forklift preferred.
