Unit: CJIS Front Office

Location: Clarksburg, WV

Working Hours: 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Salary: GS 12: $77,488.00-$100,739.00 GS 13: $92,143.00-$119,787.00

Full Performance level: GS 13

Number of Positions Available: 1

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Key Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret (TS) clearance.

Mission Statement

Major Duties

  • Responds to requests for information from the press and public.
  • Prepares and disseminates local news releases/inquiries and statements that reflect the official position of the FBI by coordinating pertinent facts with Divisions.
  • Participates in briefing news media representatives on the Division’s programs and activities.
  • Maintains liaison with media agency personnel to ensure an effective working relationship.
  • Assists in solving complex inquiries related to public affairs problems.
  • Develops communications plans by considering such items as specific topics or aspects to emphasize, the most effective media to use in communicating with intended audiences, and the kind of information various groups want or need.
  • Evaluates the impact and effectiveness of communication plans and advises management if efforts should be discontinued, emphasis changed or coverage expanded in improving intercommunication between organization and various audiences through media utilization.
  • Develops, coordinates, and supports community outreach and education efforts while maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.)

  • Disseminated (both orally and in writing) national news releases and statements of national significance; and coordinated press conferences.

GS 13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS 12 grade level. SE is:

  • Responded orally and in writing to requests for information by media, and to the public.
  • Reviewed current press articles or stories and communicated information to appropriate entities.
  • Disseminated (both orally and in writing) news releases and statements on issues of national significance; coordinated press conferences, news briefings, and interviews.
  • Responded to complex, critical, and sensitive issues in accordance with Bureau regulations.

Education

Education may not be used to qualify at these grade levels.
