Night Janitorial - Driver

New Leaf is currently hiring for 1 full-time position on our Night Janitorial crew.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 6pm-1:30am, Potential for on-call time depending on need, Must clean for an hour on one weekend (rotating basis)

Pay: 15.43/Hour plus excellent benefits package.

Benefits: Paid holidays, sick leave, prevailing health and welfare amount, vacation after one year of employment, 401k plan after eligibility is met.

Requirements:

 A reliable janitor who services various buildings on NAS Whidbey. Able to occasionally clean 1-2 hours on weekends or holidays on a rotating basis. Employee may be asked to be on-call at times.

 Prior janitorial experience preferred but not required.

 Valid driver’s license

 Must be able to obtain and maintain approval to operate a vehicle by New Leaf’s insurance carrier.

 Ability to pass NAS Whidbey Background check at time of hire and for duration of employment. Felonies will prohibit base access.

 Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

 Drives to various locations according to specified route

 Cleans and details facilities. Removes trash; dusts equipment, furniture, or fixtures; vacuums carpet, cleans walls, mirrors or table-tops.

 Cleans lavatories, showers, and restrooms using correct chemicals on all surfaces. Dust and wipes-down fixtures, fills dispensers, empties trash containers, and mops floors.

 Cleans common areas including high traffic areas, hallways, and stairwells.

 Cleans breakrooms, lunchrooms, and coffee areas. Sweeps and mops floors, fills dispensers, and empties trash containers.

Physical Requirements and Essential Functions:

 Ability to endure up to 7 hours a day of standing, walking, and stair-climbing.

 Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

 Must be able to reach, kneel, walk, stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.

 Ability to understand and carry out verbal instructions.

 Must be able to work well with others either in a small group or with the entire crew.

 Must arrive to the worksite on time and when called in, arrive to the worksite within two hours.

 Must not exceed absences past accrued sick leave.

 Maintains professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Must wear safety vest at all times, full length pants, and closed toed shoes.

Training will be provided.
