Direct Digital Controls TechDescriptionThe hourly wage rate is $39.84/hour and thehourly benefit package is $14.68 per hour.Summary/General Description Of Job:The Direct Digital Controls Technician installs, maintains,tests, troubleshoots and repairs direct digital control systems.Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Works onvarious portions of direct digital controls systems including maintenance,programming, installing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, modifying,and testing.

Operate and maintain Direct Digital ControlSystems that controls utility and facility systems and equipment. The equipment, consisting of either manydifferent kinds of circuits, or multiple repetition of the same kind ofcircuit, includes, but is not limited to the following: a) controls, programmable logic controllers,contacts, wiring; b) electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g.,sensors and cables); c) digital computers, and d) industrial equipment; e)computer peripherals and software.

Applies advanced technical knowledge to solveunusually complex problems (i.e. those that typically cannot be solved solelyby reference to manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents) in working ondigital controls equipment. Examples ofsuch problems include programming changes, operational troubleshooting, cablecontinuity, sensor calibration, isolating malfunctions, and frequentengineering changes.

Utilizes knowledge of PC operations with DDCsoftware.

Creates graphic displays and program DDCcontrollers using software and associated programming language.

May provide technical guidance to lower leveltechnicians.

Works closely with experts in the area where thedirect digital controls are applied.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Mayperform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to theaccomplishment of the work assignment. Significant work in another job classification may be required ifaccompanied by any wage adjustments applicable.Accountable For:

QualificationsJob Requirements (Education, Experience, ProfessionalAssociations):Mandatory

Four years experience in a utilities trade and aminimum of one year working with DDC technology.

Successful completion of two years formaltraining or equivalent in a technical field. One year of experience may be substituted for one year formal training.

Must be thoroughly familiar with electronics,controls, telemetry devices, computer hardware, data processors, PC’s, wiring,cables.

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints,schematics, and other technical specifications.

Must be familiar with DDC network technologiesand global operations using sensors and electronic controlled devicesassociated with DDC systems.

Must possess a sound working knowledge of Windowsbased programs.

Must be able to perform diagnostics of hardwareand software on a global network.

Must possess and maintain a valid State issued driver’slicense with acceptable driving record.

Must meet and maintain company physical andsecurity requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearanceeligibility when required.

Must possess good communication skills for aservice team environment.

Abilityto successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on thecontract.
